- Kali Gandaki
The Kalidandaki is one of the most beautiful rivers of Nepal. She flows through the northern border of Gaindakot and merges with Narayani river on the north-east point of Gaindakot.
This river is famous for her panoramic views, raftings and the deepest gorge in the world she flows through. A lot of tourists visit the areas in the vicinity of kali gandaki because of their beauties of natural blend. There are a lot of suspension bridges above the river as she traverses through the himalayas and the mountains.
The river has the potential of producing large amount of hydro-electricity. Some hydro-electricity projects are already operational catering for huge amounts of electricity the country requires by producing several hundred megawatts of electricity.
The river water sweals up during the rainy season and srinks down during the winter season. As the source of the river is the glacier of Himalaya, she flows continuously throughout the year. Due to the global warming, the glaciers are melting down quite fast which could impact the very existance of the rivers originating from the glaciers including the kaligandaki in the long run.
